Abstract

This paper presents a TEP problem solution technique based on bat algorithm for standard 6 bus system and a real system of 400 kV, WBSEDCL. The objective of the work is to reduce the cost of proposed new lines for economic and reliable supply. DC power flow has been used to maintain the power balance at buses and line constraints. The line flow constraints are considered while optimizing the objective function. The method has been successfully applied to the system and satisfactory results have been found.
