Comparative evaluation of the impact of extraction solvent and time on the yield and antioxidant potential of Pinus densiflora needle and bark extracts

Abstract
- This study was aimed to determine and compare the effect of different percentages of extraction solvent ethanol 0% (E0), 20% (E20), and 40% (E40) with water (vol/vol) as well as extraction time 6, 9 and 15 h on the yield and antioxidant potential of Pinus densiflora needle (PDN) and bark (PDB) extracts. Extraction was performed at 60 ± 5 °C. A maximum yield of 10.99 ± 0.96 and 16.86 ± 1.96% from 20 g of PDN and PDB was obtained with E40 at 15 h of extraction, respectively.
