Abstract

In this paper we study the radiation patterns of metallic cylinders by the acousto-optical technique named pulsed Schlieren. The cylinders have diameters of the order of ultrasonic wavelength. The results obtained are compared to the antenna radiation theory. The future application of this work is to study bone tissue by Schlieren techniques to detect diseases early on.
