Abstract
- The equine sarcoid is a common, locally aggressive fibroblastic cutaneous skin tumour. It can appear anywhere on the body, but is most commonly found on areas where flies can land, such as the medial thigh or neck. There are six distinct forms of equine sarcoid and these range from less severe forms to more aggressive types. There are a number of treatment options, and the treatment will depend on the individual horse. This article describes the six types of equine sarcoids and discusses the treatment options available.
