Sonochemical activation of condensing phosphorylation of bifunctional hydroxyl-containing compounds

Abstract
- Condensing phosphorylation of 1,6-hexanediol, 1,4-dihydroxybenzene, 4,4′-dihydroxybiphenyl, and 2,2-bis(4′-hydroxyphenyl)propane by phenylphosphonous acid tetraethylamide was effected by treatment of the disperse reaction system with high-frequency sound. This treatment ensures efficient shift of the phase equilibrium in the course of condensation and increases the yield of phenylphosphonous acid oligoesters.
