Abstract
- Connections between web services vastly changed the landscape of web applications by allowing users to seamlessly forward data from one application to the next. Mobile platforms like Android improved on this concept and defined a more unified interface to transfer information from one application to another, without relying on a fixed source or target application, but rather defining the way of transfer. The ARVIDA project targets a similar purpose in a very different field: Connecting industrial applications, systems and data by defining a self-describing interface rather than writing glue code to connect specific applications. This paper focuses on the adaption of x3dom to ARVIDA interfaces and its use as a testing platform for other ARVIDA components.
