Abstract
- A series of poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA)/poly(γ-benzyl l-glutamate)-graft-poly(ethylene glycol) (PBLG-graft-PEG) blend films were prepared by casting the polymer blend solution in chloroform. Surface morphologies of the PLLA/PBLG-graft-PEG blend films were investigated by scanning electron microscopy. Thermal, mechanical, and chemical properties of PLLA/PBLG-graft-PEG blend films were studied by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, tensile tests, and surface contact angle tests. It was indicated that, when PBLG-graft-PEG mole content is 5 %, the tensile strength and the surface contact angle of the polymer blend film are 21.2 MPa and 63.2°, respectively, suggesting that the polymer blend film has both good mechanical and good chemical properties.
