Abstract
- This paper investigated on how several perceptions of Human Resource (HR) practices such as pay, promotion, benefits and recognition played some significant roles in determining employees' satisfaction among the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP). Also, this paper revealed some knowledge on the most influential perceptions of HR practices towards increasing the level of satisfaction among the RMP. The sample consisted of 250 employees from middle (officer) and lower (ranked and file) levels from the General Operation Force (GOF) departments who have been deployed, equipped and trained for specified roles from the Centre Region of Malaysia. The results presented that several HR practices (eg. pay, promotion, benefits and recognition) are positively and negatively related to employees’ satisfaction. Among the tested predictors of satisfaction in this study, recognition appeared as the most significant predictor towards the RMP satisfaction; followed by pay, promotion and benefits. Several implications which are needed to be highlighted to the top management are addressed at the end of this study.
