Abstract
- We predict that the minimum size of a Peierls dimerized chain with weak electron-phonon coupling can be in (sub)micrometer range and be there-fore detectable in mesoscopic systems. We suggest perylene radical cation salts as possible materials and the non-linear optical absorption as a possible technique of experimental observation.
