Abstract
- The City of Phoenix (COP) is removing aggrading sediments and performing surface grading on approximately 0.5 acres of land administered by the Arizona State Land Department (ASLD) in and around a box culvert in Maricopa County, Arizona. Because these activities were believed to hold the potential to adversely affect a previously documented cultural resource site AZ T:8:89 (ASM) (Marshall 1998a), COP requested that EcoPlan Associates, Inc. (EcoPlan) conduct a cultural resources survey of terrain within the project area in advance of their work. The cultural resource survey reported herein was conducted on 8 May 2007 by walking east-west transects spaced not more than 15 m apart. While it is presumed that site AZ T:8:89 (ASM) ― a historic road ― originally traversed the project area, no identifiable portions of the structure could be identified. No other cultural resources were discovered within the surveyed area.
