Abstract

Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are common in children, with underlying conditions including overactive bladder, underactive bladder, voiding postponement and dysfunctional voiding. Evaluation for potential LUT dysfunction involves a thorough history of bladder and bowel symptoms, physical examination and assessment of voiding. Treatment is multimodal and multidisciplinary. Approaches need to be tailored to the individual child and refined in view of response.
