Abstract: Novel N,N′-dibenzylated cinchona alkaloid-based phase-transfer catalysts are designed to provide improved enantioselectivity for the intramolecular spirocyclization of substrates of type (I), (III), and (V) compared to traditional cinchona alkaloid catalysts.
