Abstract

The Region of Central and South America represents an eclectic scenery with regards to its economic and social indicators and its ecological and geographical range. This is a Region with a vast wildlife diversity, which also holds the largest livestock producing and exporting countries. In this context, many opportunities for interaction at the wildlife–livestock interface arise, enabling the occurrence of important infectious diseases.
