Abstract

This year was the 25th edition of the ACM Conferences on Hypertext and Hypermedia. Hypertext 2014 took place in Santiago de Chile, a location that is quite far away from the US and particularly from Europe. Nevertheless, the conference was well-attended with about 85 participants. There were two interesting keynote talks, given by César A. Hidalgo from MIT Media Lab and Ricardo Baeza-Yates from Yahoo! Research Labs. The Best Paper Awards went to a study on reader preferences and behavior on Wikipedia and an experimental study on scalable, generic and adaptive focused crawling. The conference was organized at PUC Chile in central Santiago. The evening slots were dedicated to eating, drinking and exploring the city together, which was a great opportunity to get to know the Hypertext community on a more personal level.
