Abstract
- The aim of this paper is to propose a new method to solve the inverse scattering problem in a non homogeneous elastic medium, from data recorded in an acoustic medium. We aim to determine the Young modulus of elastic unknown “inclusions”, i.e. not observable solid objects, located in the elastic medium, from partial aperture boundary measurements. This approach combines a time-reversal approach and redatuming - a technique that consists in virtually moving the sensors from the original acquisition location to an arbitrary position - which allows to reduce the size of the inspected medium. Thanks to this strategy, we can recover the properties of the scatterer, this technique being also relatively insensitive to noise in the data.
