Abstract
- The society has been driven to create parameters for sustainable development and to transposition into the circular economy. Sustainability strategies were assessed in fabric value chain and clothing. To discuss this subject, we analyzed the results found using the information published in the current literature about sustainability in the textile chain. The results indicate that the fabric and clothing production chain needs to expand sustainable practices, such as selective collection, reuse, recycling, and proper disposal of textile waste, and to improve the population’s awareness of the theme, one of the obstacles to sustainability. The adoption of recycling will be a qualitative leap for the circular economy in the studied business chains and will just happen when education becomes a priority. The results show it is urgent to change the paradigm in society in order to enter a circular and sustainable economy.
