Abstract

A highly efficient method for oxidative aromatization of Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridines in the presence of a catalytic amount of Mn(pbdo) 2 Cl 2 /MCM-41(Manganese (II) complex with 2,2′ bipyridine, 1,1′ dioxide (bpdo) ligand immobilized within nanoreactors of MCM-41) or Mn(pbdo) 2 Cl 2 /Al-MCM-41 as reusable, green and heterogeneous catalysts in refluxing acetic acid is reported.
