Abstract

In today’s solar energy situation, the general motto is “set it and forget it”. This argument derives from thorough analysis and reliability studies into photovoltaic panels. This ensures there is no need for repairs and daily monitoring. Yet several things can go wrong to cause the real output to deviate from the planned output. If defects and unanticipated problems of deterioration go undetected, they would result in reduced production of energy. The degradation of solar modules was also evident with the rise in series resistance of the module and consequent degradation of the output electrical power of the modules. This research paper explores the precedent of ageing among modules currently in use, with the objective of evaluating the durability of photovoltaic modules. This paper discusses comparative product life analysis of PV modules. Analysis of all solar PV modules is accomplished with LabVIEW software.
