Abstract
- Syspira monticola (Bryant, 1948) combinatio nova Figures 8, 9 Teminius monticolus Bryant, 1948: 411, fig. 94 (female holotype from Loma Rucilla, Armando Bermúdez National Park, Santiago Province, ~ 1500–2450 m, June, 1938, P. Darlington, deposited in MCZ, examined). Teminius monticola: Roewer, 1955: 407. Diagnosis. Females of S. monticola comb. n. resembles those of S. medialuna by having an atrial hood not projected (Figs 5D, 8D), but are readily recognized by having lower posterior plates and higher atrium (Fig. 8D). Description. Male unknown. Female described by Bryant (1948). Remarks. Collection efforts at the type and nearby localities, looking for new specimens, were unsuccessful. Vegetation in the type locality comprises a mixture of broadleaf and pine forest. Distribution.
