Abstract
- A standard operating process for assessment, design, and follow-through of simulation-based education was developed to improve simulation experiences and optimize customer and staff satisfaction in a large multidisciplinary simulation center. Information is provided to describe development and implementation of a standard operating process for a large multidisciplinary simulation center. The Model for Improvement, a continuous improvement method, is the framework used to systematically describe the design, implementation, and monitoring of the standard operating process. A standard operating process is essential for success when high volumes and multiple disciplines are doing simulation-based education in a large simulation center. Utilization of a process for helping new and recurrent customers develop simulation-based education within a continuous improvement framework can increase both efficiency and the satisfaction of customers and simulation faculty and staff.
