Abstract

The Department of Health and Social Care in England report that around two-thirds of adults and one-third of children leaving the primary education phase are living over a healthy weight. Government policies and interventions established to change unhealthy behaviours in the population can vary in their effectiveness, acceptability and level of support when rolled out to the public. This rapid scoping review will explore existing literature to understand public acceptability and support for a variety of dietary and active travel policy interventions. The acceptability of public policy is important to ensure the design, evaluation and implementation of government interventions are effective. The objective of this scoping review is to examine which factors determine and moderate the acceptability of dietary and active travel policies.
