Abstract

The laboratory is located in Tbilisi under Mount Mtatsminda at a depth of 170 m (water equivalent). An underground side room 120 m 2 in area at the center of a 300-m tunnel cut through low-level middle-Eocene rocks was used. The laboratory has stable power and water supply. The material silakpor, which has radiation-absorbing properties, was used for decorative finishing and heating of the working area. All structural materials in the laboratory were checked in advance for radiation purity. The temperature in the laboratory room is kept at 17 • 0.5~ year-round.
