Abstract
- Gastric per oral endoscopic myotomy is a novel endoscopic technique, using mucosal incision and submucosal tunneling, to access and surgically divide the pyloric ring. It has been reported as a technically feasible procedure and minimally invasive therapy for refractory gastroparesis. We performed this procedure in a 63-year-old male patient with postoperative pylorospasm, with clinical success. Pylorospasm is one of pathophysiologic mechanisms underlying gastroparesis. As a subgroup of gastroparesis, pylorospasm should be identified to be an appropriate indication for gastric per oral endoscopic myotomy.
