Abstract
- Many applications on multiprocessors have their own locality in communication. Since convectional networks don't necessarily make full use of these localities, it sometimes causes local congestion of networks and large latency. In this paper, we propose a new network architecture (ToF-net). It has topological and routing flexibility with low latency. Also, the ASIC that we developed to organize it is presented. According to our estimation, the ToF-Net has the advantage of less latency and higher throughput with increasing locality or packet length over conventional networks such as 3-D torus and hypercube. >
