Abstract

Real power losses minimization and maintaining the stable node voltage magnitude is a major issue in power system. The authors are presenting how to reduce the active power loss and maintain the voltage stability of the power system network in this paper. To achieve this performance, the system is supplied reactive and active power by UPFC devices. The analytical Newton–Raphson algorithm method is applied for power flow equation. The proposed algorithm is authentic in the IEEE-based 6 and 14 test bus system. The simulations are executed using PSAT in the MATLAB environment. The authors present the voltage collapse point and real power loss before and after using UPFC.
