Abstract
- The design of a CO2 laser system producing single mode microsecond pulses is described. The experimental results obtained on a hybrid oscillator-amplifier system are provided and they exhibit good agreement with the kinetic model developed for the numerical simulation of microsecond pulse propagation. Such a system could be useful for ion-temperature measurements by Thomson scattering on Tokamak plasmas.
