Abstract

A simple source of data for students to use in studying uncertainty analysis is a rectangle drawn by the instructor. Determination of lengths, perimeter, and area can be used to illustrate statistical methods and the propagation of error theorem. The effort and equipment involved are minimal, making this technique ideal for use in a non-laboratory-based course.
