A Systems Engineering Approach to Information Architecture Design

Structured analysis and object oriented approaches to information system requirements analysis and design are discussed. It is argued that the design of an information architecture is an essential step in an uncertain environment, when the rates of external and internal change and the rate of technological change are high. Executable models based on Colored Petri Nets enhance the object oriented approach for use in systems engineering.
