Abstract
- Raising the price of carbon can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and galvanize a clean economy transition. Meeting the Paris Agreement not only requires reducing emissions to zero this century but further demands the mass removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Recently in Joule Daggash and Mac Dowell report that higher carbon pricing alone will not incentivize atmospheric CO2 removal and instead propose a complementary credit for negative emissions.
