Abstract
- A new method involving trials on 40 grain and 50 grain samples has been proposed for the determination of fiber maturity using the Micronaire. Tests on 130 samples have revealed that this method is significantly correlated with fiber maturity determined by the standard caustic soda swelling technique and is as efficient as the spacer technique. Further, the theoretical basis for extending the use of Micronaire for determination of cotton fiber maturity is also discussed.
