Abstract

4. B. sect. Strangweja (Bertol.) K. Persson & Weldelbo in Bot. Not. 132: 65 (1979). Strangweja Bertol. in Mem. Soc. Ital. Modena 21: 2, t. 1 (1835). Hyacinthus sect. Strangweja (Bertol.) Baker in J. Linn. Soc. 11: 424 (1871). Type species: B. hyacinthoides (Bertol.) K. Persson & Weldelbo Leaves prostrate, longer than scape, margins ciliate. Inflorescence subspicate, flowers ascending, subsessile; pedicels not elongating in fruit; bracts relatively large, bilobed apically. Perianth cylindric-campanulate, pale blue; lobes 2 to 3 times as long as tube. Anthers violet.
