Abstract

Operational concerns in systems require that some variables remain within strict limits in the presence of significant parameter variations and other uncertainties. An attitude control and momentum management system is developed for a space station, that is robust to large changes in mass properties while keeping certain system inputs and states within strict bounds. The problem is solved using ellipsoidal set-theoretic bounds, explicitly accounting for parametric uncertainties while satisfying hard input and state constraints. Simulation studies demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed design. Robustness comparisons with the most prominent robust designs reported in the literature are presented.
