Abstract
- Pseudococcus Comstocki Kuw., is the principal insect enemy of Catalpa bungei in northern Virginia, eastern West Virginia and through the Cumberland Valley to Hagerstown, Maryland. Ovicidal properties of various materials were tested. Investigations covering a two years' period showed that the first two generations were controlled by a dormant treatment of hand cleaning and spraying. The third generation caused most of the injury in August and September and was controlled by mechanical methods only.
