Abstract
- Dependence of the ferroelectric electron emission properties on the variables including the geometric ratio of the upper electrode diameter to the thickness of the ferroelectrics was investigated. Saturation polarization and dielectric constant increased with increasing the ferroelectric thickness and decreasing the upper electrode diameter. Electrons were emitted from the ferroelectric films above 2.0 μm with an emission charge comparable to that of the bulk ferroelectrics. As the ferroelectric thickness increased and the upper electrode diameter decreased, electrons were more easily emitted without breakdown. The effect of the ratio of the upper electrode diameter to the ferroelectric thickness on the emission properties was explained through the electric field simulation of the ferroelectric electron gun.
