The primitive syntax of mental predicates in Hawaii Creole English: A text-based study

This study presents evidence collected from basilectal texts that the NSM mental predicates ( think, know, want, feel, say, see , and hear ) have clear lexical exponents in Hawaii Creole English and that these HCE predicates occur, with minor qualification, in the syntactic configurations predicted by Wierzbicka (1996).
