Abstract
- The effect of a surface modification of the nanodiamonds on the mechanical and surface properties of composite films based on polyvinyl alcohol was investigated. Maximum Young’s modulus and tensile stress were obtained for composites with oxidized nanodiamonds. Hydrophobization of nanoparticles with adsorption layers of oleylamine results to a decrease in the strength of the films. Surface concentration of initial and modified nanodiamonds in the composite films was determined by autoradiography technique with the use of tritium-labeled nanodiamonds
