Hip Joint Sonoanatomy and Ultrasound-Guided Hip Joint Injection

Hip pain is a common complaint that can be symptoms from a wide variety of conditions. Despite the deep location of the hip compared to other joints, ultrasound has proven to be helpful in both diagnosis of pathology and treatment via various ultrasound guided injections. Given its deep location, a low frequency curvilinear probe is typically utilized. The following chapter will review hip sonoanatomy, and when applicable, injection techniques chapter under ultrasound guidance.
