Samantha’s story

This article tells the story of a service user who was an inpatient for 25 years under the Transforming Care cohort and was successfully discharged into the community. She describes some of the abusive practices that she experienced in the different inpatient services that she was detained in. Alongside the support of an Intensive Support Team, Community Learning Disability Team and her support workers she has worked hard to create a meaningful and successful life in the community
