Abstract
- We report two patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy complicated by idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Both of the two diseases successfully responded to intravenous immunoglobulin infusion. A small number of similar patients have been previously reported. Because the immunological mechanism more evidently correlates to these patients than to the entire spectrum of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, they might form a subgroup unusually responsive to immunomodulating therapy.
