Abstract

The determination of the oxidation state in which vanadium is in metallurgical slag's is an important factor in choosing the optimal conditions for the production of ferrovanadium by the silicothermal method. On the basis of thermodynamic calculations, electrochemical investigations and UV-Vis spectroscopy it has been shown that in vanadium-contain metallurgical slag's vanadium is in the form of V2O3.
