Abstract
- Business process modeling has become a popular method for improving the efficiency and quality of enterprise processes. Given the increasing complexity of the enterprise business processes and the richness of modeling languages, the ability to automatically validate a process model is a significant feature provided by modeling tools. This paper proposes an ontology-based approach for modeling and integrating business processes and business rules. It integrates a Colored Petri Nets-based ontology and also a business rule ontology. The integration is automated to facilitate the early detection of flaws and errors and to check the compliance of the business processes and the business rules.
