Abstract
- An investigation was carried out to study the effect of high electrodeposition temperature at 50°C and 60°C on composition and morphology of Ni-TiN/Si3N4 composite coating. The coatings were deposited by using electrodeposition process at fixed current density of 2.5 mA/cm2 for 15 minutes. The batch composition was 0.17 M NiCl2(6H2O), 0.38 M Ni2SO4(6H2O), 6 g/L TiN, 0.6 g/L Si3N4, 40 g/LH3BO4 and 0.6 g/L SDS (Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate). The results shows that the metals content of Ni, Ti and Si elements increased as increasing in electrodeposition temperature from 50°C to 60°C. It was followed by rougher morphology formation with a few agglomeration on the surface coating.
