Abstract
- A study is performed of the processes that occur during the interaction between the planetary atmosphere of Gliese 436 b and the incoming plasma wind and ionizing radiation of the parent star. The approximate values of the speed and density of the star’s plasma wind are determined based on a comparison of the results from numerical modeling using a self-consistent 3D magnetohydrodynamic model with the results from observations using the Hubble Space Telescope/Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (HST/STIS).
