Abstract: 1-[1,7-Dicarbaclozooctaboran(8)yl] (induction constant σi=0.08 and resonance constant σR°=−0.02) and 1-[1,6-dicarbaclozononaboran(9)yl] (σ=0.09 and σR°=0.05) groups are weak electron-acceptor groupings.
