Abstract

The study analyses the lessons learnt from two cases of entrepreneurship that launched Augmented Reality in educational contexts. The first one focuses on the enhancement of a compulsory book used by elementary-school students all over the country. In this case, the enterprise has a direct customer, the government. The second one is an independent effort to design from scratch a local book. In this case, the company expects a return on investment from selling the book. Both cases exemplify how to use Augmented Reality to improve immersive learning environments. Furthermore, both cases illustrate how to implement the concept of economies of scale to make feasible the implementation of immersive learning. The method of inquiry is the Extended-Case Method. Consequently, the chapter contributes by contrasting previous literature with new scenarios, update it, and remarking future perspectives, opportunities, and issues.
