Abstract

In recent years, the Location Based Services (LBS) have grown rapidly. It is important for mobile service operators to provide users with high quality of services. Raising efficiency is one of the frequently discussed issues in service management. Although numerous researches were contributed to this topic, there are still some imperfections in region detection of LBS that make most of LBS inefficient. In this paper, a distributed collaboration scheme of region detection is proposed to solve the problem and implemented in a commercial vehicle operations system. The effect of the scheme can be verified by analyzing the service data and simulation results. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme has a great improvement in decreasing system processing time and the quantity of data transmission, which will achieve remarkable success in raising the system efficiency and quality of services. This paper makes a contribution on the academic fields of LBS management and related researches.
