Abstract

The response function of a particle orbit to the perturbations induced by the orbit off-centeredness at injection is defined. Correlations between these perturbations and the produced changes in the orbit properties are analysed. The most efficient orbit centering procedure employing the first harmonic of the magnetic field is derived.
