Comparison of the effect of phosphorus and nitrogen on copper-deficient and -sufficient oats

From glasshouse experiments it seems probable that the more effective utilisation of nitrogen in the synthesis of protein with which copper may be associated is the reason for the increased severity of copper deficiency observed when phosphate is applied to oats growing on a peat medium of low copper content.
