Abstract
- Particle filled polymers are used in very large quantities in advance composite materials. Although investigations have done to evaluate the mechanical properties of particle filled composites, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analysis have not done so for. Therefore, in this work, the elastic modulus of randomly distributed particle filled composite materials are computed by finite element method and verified with the already published experimental data. Spherically shaped solid and hollow glass particles and epoxy are used as fillers and matrix materials respectively. The FEA is applied to a single representative volume element model. The failure theories and mathematical models are verified with the numerical values.
