Abstract

The results of comparative analysis of inclusions in natural Tanzanian chrysoberyl, Uralian alexandrite, and various synthesized samples are given. It is shown that the natural crystals contain high amount of solid (chrysoberyl, biotite, fluorite, quartz, muscovite, and oligoclase) and fluid inclusions. The homogenization temperatures of inclusions in Tanzanian chrysoberyl indicate that it was formed under decreased pressure and from higher temperature fluids relative to the Uralian alexandrite.
